Original Associated Press (AP) Wirephoto. March 23, 1961 taken in the State Department auditoriam where Kennedy discussed gains by pro-Communist rebels in Laos. On the reverse is the official Associated Press Wirephoto stamp. Comes from the archive of a Pennsylvania daily newspaper where they trimmed the top edge (not effecting the photo) before sending the photo to press.
Historical Notes
The first foreign policy crisis faced by John F. Kennedy was said to have been the situation in landlocked, poverty stricken Laos.
